About:

The Oberon Rodeo Association Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation responsible for delivering the annual Oberon Rodeo—an iconic event celebrating the region’s rural heritage, the sport of rodeo, and community spirit.

After more than a decade without a local rodeo, the Association re-formed in 2011 with the shared goal of reviving this much-loved tradition. The first rodeo under the new committee was held on 1st December 2012, marking a successful return after the last event in 2001. Notably, the 50th anniversary of the committee was held in 2024, highlighting the event’s longstanding roots in the Oberon community.

Since 2012, the committee has worked tirelessly to grow the rodeo into a professional, family-friendly event that honours its legacy while showcasing modern rodeo talent and community involvement.

2026 will mark our twelfth event since the revival, a milestone that reflects the dedication and hard work of volunteers, local supporters, and sponsors. With each year, the Oberon Rodeo continues to gain momentum as a highlight on the regional calendar—bringing together rodeo enthusiasts, local families, and visitors from across the Central Tablelands and beyond.

In addition to the main rodeo, the Oberon Bull Futurity—now entering its fourth year in 2025—has become a key feature on our calendar. This event supports and showcases the future of bucking stock in Australia, giving breeders, contractors, and young bulls a dedicated platform to develop and compete.
